Griffin Peck, the Morris Model coordinator, initiated a planning effort to update and expand the scope of our sustainability strategic vision for the Morris community. This work included using the SDGs as a framework as they established new goals and priorities. 

WCROC has been featured in different news outlets regarding the new 500kw agrivoltaic installation completed in partnership with the University of Minnesota - Morris.

The Morris Model team was recently notified that they were selected as one of the 33 winners in the second phase of the Energizing Rural Communities Prize.

Morris is a small town in western Minnesota with big clean energy goals.

In rural parts of Minnesota, the shortage of licensed alcohol and drug counselors is stark. According to the Minnesota Department of Health, in the Twin Cities, there are 2,786 residents for every 1 LADC. In rural areas, the number is 13,576 residents to every 1 LADC.

The University of Minnesota Morris has been recognized as a 2022 ALL IN Most Engaged Campuses for College Student Voting.

On December 2, 2022 the Morris Campus Student Association hosted a Sustainability Forum to celebrate the diversity of sustainability activity happening across campus and the community of Morris.

Across the country, local governments are accelerating their efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions, in some cases bridging partisan divides. Their role will become increasingly important - including efforts right here in Morris, MN.
