Public Engagement Footprint In 2020, University of Minnesota Office for Public Engagement released an interactive system that helps communicate the University’s public impact. The interactive webpage uses a combination of ArcGIS Survey123 and ArcGIS Online and features a map with various filters, including the SDGs, that allows users to click for additional information on UMN outreach and engagement efforts.

Grand Challenge Curriculum The Grand Challenge Curriculum (GCC) launched in Fall 2015 in support of the University of Minnesota strategic plan. The GCC addresses important societal challenges through a solution-driven multidisciplinary approach to learning and are co-taught by instructors who bring unique perspectives to each Grand Challenge being explored. GCC course offerings are developed on an ongoing basis and there are now over 30 courses and freshman seminars in the curriculum covering topics such as global health issues, food supply, climate change, inequity in education, and sustainability.
For Fall and Spring 2023, courses include: GCC 1908: Ways of Knowing Science , and GCC 3026: Stepping Into the Gap: How can you support diversity in STEM?
